Sauvie Island Farms update...
It is the end of May and I must apologize for not getting a farm update out before now. Although the weather this spring has been challenging, we have planted a new field of strawberries for next year's harvest, added some trees to the peach orchard, along with the winter tasks of equipment maintenance and planning for this year's crops. The farm ground is still very wet in most fields, some of the crops are in, but a majority are still waiting to be planted. The berries that stay in the ground all year are growing, and we hope to have ripe strawberries by the end of next week.
We will send out an update with the opening date, once the strawberries are ripe enough to pick! We will also have beautiful peonies for you to cut, and a few other early flowers are just starting to bloom.
We are looking forward to some warmer weather and a great season on the farm!
