Sauvie Island Farms Pick Your Own Strawberries will open Thursday June 6. 8am-6pm
We will continue to be open Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm. Always closed on Sundays.
We have Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak strawberry varieties this year. These ripen about a week later than Hoods, so if you hear other farms are opening, we should be open within another week.
We will post an update as soon as we have determined an opening date.
We look forward to seeing you back on the farm.
Sauvie Island Farms U-cut Christmas trees will be open for the 2023 season.
Friday and Saturday November 25 & 26 December 1 & 2 9am-5pm
We have a low inventory of trees again this year, so we plan to just be open these 4 days.
All trees will be $50 each. No charge for baling the tree.
This year the Douglas firs are mostly under 12 feet, with some very tall ones. The Grand firs are mostly under 5 feet, some are taller and the Noble firs are mostly under 5 feet with some taller.
We will provide saws and carts for you to use while at the farm, and twine to attach your tree to your car.
There will be no wreaths or garland, hot drinks or cookies this year.
We have attempted to replant our Christmas trees for the past couple of years, the extreme heat we have had during the summer months has destroyed most of the small saplings.
Thanks for your interest and support of our farm.
Blueberries are ready to pick at Sauvie Island Farms.
The first variety to ripen on the farm are the Early Blue blueberries. These medium sized berries are sweet and have a classic blueberry flavor. They are our favorite. This year the bushes are loaded with ripe fruit. It is time to come out and get your fill of blueberries, fresh from the bushes.
$3.50 per lb for u-pick
$50 10lb flat or $28 5lb 1/2 flat if we pick them for you.
We are picking by order only. And we must have your order by 5pm the day before you want to pick up at the farm.
Call or text 503-621-3988 to place an order.
Small amounts of Tayberries and Yellow raspberries are ripening also.
Red raspberries are still a week or more from being ready to pick.
Flowers on the farm this week: Shasta Daisies, Lavender, Baby's breath, and a few Dahlias.
The strawberries are riping quickly with the warm weather we have been having, so we have changed our plans and will OPEN on Thursday June 8th, 8am-6pm
We have 4 varieties of strawberries at the farm this year.
Hood, Shuksan, Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak.
The Hoods and Shuksans are on the 4th year of harvest, the plants are stressed and the fruit is smaller, but still very sweet. These 2 are ripe and ready to pick NOW.
The Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak are just starting to get big beautiful ripe berries, they should be good to harvest for the next 3 weeks.
All u-pick strawberries are $3.00 per lb.
Fresh picked strawberries will be available by order only starting Saturday June 10.
$45 flat or $25 1/2 flat.
*We will NOT have HOODS for fresh pick this year. We only have 12 rows of Hoods and are keeping those for u-pick only.
We need to have your order in by 5pm the day before you want to pick up at the farm.
Call or Text 503-621-3988 to leave your order.
Peonies have not lasted long this year, we have had a lot of strong winds, but you can still cut them for $1.00 a bloom.
This year on the farm we have Hood, Shuksan, Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak strawberry varieties.
The Hood and Shuksan fields are on their 4th year, they are usually good for 3 harvest seasons. We kept these 2 varieties in for another year, because we were unable to get these varieties to replant over the past 2 years. All this to say, they are producing, but not a large crop.
We have a small amount of Hood and Shuksan ripening and will be open for a few hours for the first pick of the season
Saturday, June 3. 9am-1pm
We will then open for the season on Saturday June 10 8am-6pm
hopefully with Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak as well as the Hood and Shuksan,
we will continue to be open Monday-Saturdays 8am-6pm
If you wanting to get the first taste of Oregon grown strawberries, come out Saturday.
We also have beautiful peonies in bloom for $1.00 per bloom or 12 for $10.
