 HOUR CHANGE for the u-pick fields this week, due to the extreme high temperatures.  We are reducing our hours.  It is not safe for you or our employees to be out in the extreme heat for extending periods of time.

Monday-Friday 8am-2pm  * last entrance into the u-pick field is 1:30pm

Saturday 8am-6pm

Berries at the beginning of the week are in excellent condition.  

We expect them to suffer from the heat.  So come as soon as you can to pick  berries.

*Blue Crop Blueberries-excellent picking

*Marionberries-excellent picking

*Red Raspberries-light crop this year, there are spots with nice berries.

*Yellow Raspberries-good picking , they do not like high temperatures

*Tayberries-light picking,  more to ripen

Veggies:

Picking cucumbers, Green Beans, Zucchini

Flowers & Herbs:

Dahlias, Daisies, Lavender, Sunflowers, Zinnias, Echinacea, Glads, Blazing Star, Babies Breath,  Dill, Cilantro, Chamomille.

PEACHES--The Red Havens will ripen quickly in the hot weather.  We may have tree ripened peaches by the end of the week.

Hello Summer!

 It is finally starting to feel like summer at Sauvie Island Farms.

The sun is shining and the temperatures are warming up.

Our strawberries continue to ripen in the fields.

The first picking of Hoods was great this season, but with the second picking they are smaller in size.  There are more green to ripen in the field, so if you are wanting to u-pick Hoods we should have them this week and into next week. 

Our Shuksan Strawberries have been beautiful this year.  Plenty to pick, and the flavor is excellent.  We should have easy picking for this week & next also.

A new variety at our farm this year is Puget Crimson.  This is a larger size berry and a great sweet flavor.  Many people have said they really like this berry.  This is a "later in the season to ripen' strawberry, so we have nice picking now and it should continue for the next week or two.  We see lots of green ones waiting to ripen.

There are nice peony blooms this week.  They won't last long with the warmer weather.  $1.00 bloom or 12/$10

2022 'Pick Your Own' Season

The STRAWBERRIES are ready to pick at Sauvie Island Farms.

We have HOOD and SHUKSAN strawberries ripe and ready to be picked.

The u-pick price is $3.00 per lb.

If you want us to do the picking for you, we have fresh picked by order only.  Call or text the farm line 503.621.3988 the day BEFORE you want to pick up at the farm.

1/2 Flat - 5 lbs. $25.00

We have been selling these early summer blooms for over 15 years at the same price.  These beauties are blooming later than normal, and they won't last long.

 Sauvie Island Farms   will open for the 2022 'Pick Your Own' season when the Strawberries are ripe.  

It looks like we will have a nice crop of berries this year.

2021 Season is now over.

 Sauvie Island Farms is now closed for the 2021 season.

We had a limited number of Christmas trees ready to be cut this year, so we were only open for 2 days after Thanksgiving.

We appreciate all of you that came out over the summer to pick berries and peaches.  Thank you for your interest and support of our family farm.

 2021 PRICE UPDATE

All Christmas Trees at Sauvie Island Farms will be $40 each this year.

( in the previous post, we listed the prices that we have had for the past several years)

We are open Friday and Saturday November 26 and 27, 9am-5pm

We have some beautiful noble, grand, and douglas firs that are over 10 feet tall. If you do not need a tree that tall, you can cut it off to fit your space, and just pay the $40 price.  

We also have many 1-2 foot size trees that we would like left in the field, so they can grow for the next year, but if you really want a small tree, it will be the same price.

We are only open for 2 days this season due to the low numbers of trees left in our field.
