I have been following a blog, Your Homebased Mom, for over a year now. It is published by a creative local woman who has many delicious recipes, party ideas, and fun things to do in the Portland area. Since Leigh Anne has many great recipes I thought it would be fun to invite her out to the farm to pick peaches....and then see what she did with them. She is blogging about her visit to our farm at Homebased Portland and YourHomebased Mom . She has included a peach pie recipe, which we are going to try tomorrow. She used FRESH peaches, which I love...and actually prefer over cooked peaches. Check out her blogs...and leave her a comment to let her know how you found her. Oh...she added some great pictures from the farm to our facebook page. Find us on facebook ~ Sauvie Island Farms.
The RED HAVEN PEACHES are available to pick this week. These are beautiful tree ripened peaches perfect for freezing, canning or eating fresh! Our next peaches to ripen are the Hale-Haven and the Rosas. They should be ready to pick by mid week. Chester Blackberries and Blueberries are available in abundance this week. There are a few 'end of the season' raspberries and the marions are done for this year. We have green beans, pickling cukes, green and yellow zucchini, lettuce, cabbage and few other veggies all for you to pick this week. U-cut flowers and herbs are also available!! Hope to see you soon on the farm...and if YOU blog about it ....let us know!! We love to hear from you.
