So many reasons to come to Sauvie Island Farms this week.....
Blueberries: The Blue Crop blueberries are loaded with sweet ripe fruit now. They have all ripened at the same time and they are so easy to pick. They need to get picked as soon as possible or they will drop to the ground. This is the week for picking blueberries!
Some Liberty blueberries are starting to ripen also.
Raspberries: We surprisingly still have sweet nice raspberries for you to pick.
There is a lot of heat damage in these, but if you look down low in the vines, you can find nice berries.
Chester Blackberries: These are just starting to ripen. There are beautiful berries hiding in the midst of the jungle of vines. Since these bushe are thornless, it is an adventure to search for the ripest berries. There are lots more to ripen in the next couple of week.
RED HAVEN PEACHES: We are opening the orchard on Thursday July 22. These peaches are classified a free stone, but they do cling to the pit a little. They have a sweet peachy flavor which makes them a favorite of many.
Veggies: zucchini, cabbage, slicing cukes
Pickling cucumbers: in the next few days the picking will be great for pickle sized cukes.
Herbs: Dill, cilantro, basil, chamomile, sage, rosemary
