PUMPKINS this October 2025

Pumpkins at Sauvie Island Farms 2025

We are opening the farm for the month of October for                  u-pick Pumpkins.  8am-6pm

We are doing this for those of you who may just want to get a few pumpkins for the kids to carve or to decorate your porch.  We do not have the hype or extra entertainment like other farms. We do not have an entrance fee or extra charges.

It will just be you and a field full of pumpkins.

(if you want the 'extras' there are a couple of farms on the island doing a great job providing fall fun.)

We will have the farm open same as this summer-- self serve, pay using cash or venmo.

We know that this system is not perfect, we so appreciate all who have honored our farm over the summer, and if you are reading this, we are sure that you have.  Thank you.

Sauvie Island Farms has been growing pumpkins for decades.  We have a few wholesale accounts, one you may have seen on tv.  We usually do not open to the public, but our field is right before the blueberries this year and accessible from our main walking road.  If you have been to the farm, you know the blueberry field is about a 5 minute walk from the farm's entrance.  Carrying a pumpkin or two this far may not be possible for some.  We do a have a few (less than 10) wagons for you to use while at the farm or you are welcome to bring your own wagon.

Prices for the pumpkins:

Small 'field trip' size: $2 each

Jack o Lanterns:  $6 each

Large-over 25lbs $10 each

mini pumpkins: 2 for $1.00

You will walk past a field of cabbage right before you get to the pumpkins, you are welcome to harvest those also.   $2 each

We do still have some nice flowers blooming on the farm.
Dahlias 50 cents per bloom. Z
innias & Sunflowers  $5 per bundle-what you can wrap your thumb and fingers around.

U-pick APPLES:  Rome Beauty and Red Delicious  $1.00 per lb. The apples are not sprayed, so there  may--will--be worms in some of the apples.

It's fall, so there will be mud.  Be careful where you step and come prepared.

Happy Pumpkin hunting from Sauvie Island Farms

Important Update about Sauvie Island Farms for the 2025 season!

Our season begins with U-CUT PEONIES.  $1.00 per bloom  Open May 24

A few other perennials are in bloom, sage, chives, carnation pinks, lupine, & Dame's rocket @$5 per bundle. (what  you can wrap your thumb and index finger around)

We so appreciate all of our loyal customers over the years, and we hope that we can still provide a peaceful farm for you to pick berries and flowers at this year.

For those crops that we no longer offer, there are several farms operating on Sauvie Island that have berries, peaches and veggies.  We hope you will find one that you enjoy.

This year on the farm we have Hood, Shuksan, Puget Crimson and Mary's Peak strawberry varieties.

The Hood and Shuksan fields are on their 4th year, they are usually good for 3 harvest seasons. We kept these 2 varieties in for another year, because we were unable to get these varieties to replant over the past 2 years.  All this to say, they are producing, but not a large crop.

We have a small amount of Hood and Shuksan ripening and will be open for a few hours for the first pick of the season

Saturday, June 3.  9am-1pm

We will then open for the season on Saturday June 10  8am-6pm

If you wanting to get the first taste of Oregon grown strawberries, come out Saturday.

We also have beautiful peonies in bloom for $1.00 per bloom or 12 for $10.
