it's fall...

Here at Sauvie Island Farms, we still have Chester Blackberries to pick. This is our first year to have this crop and we are happy to say that these fall bearing thornless blackberries, really do keep riping even with the cool nights. There are berries ready to pick this week as well as more red ones that should ripen in the next week or so. We also have a small field of green beans, some green peppers, zucchini and a few ripe tomatoes this week. There are beautiful dahlias blooming...waiting to be cut!! Our bodacious sweet corn field is coming to an end, but we do have a couple more plantings of corn, so we will have fresh sweet corn for you to purchase already picked at our October location..just 1/4 mile from the Sauvie Island bridge.. We will also have fresh cooked corn on the cob each day!! We open with our pumpkin harvest, corn maze, hayrides, animal barn...etc. on October 1st!!
