Labor Day Weekend on the farm

Sauvie Island Farms will be open 9am-7pm on Saturday, September 4th & also Monday, September 6th. We are always closed on Sundays.

We have beautiful Chester blackberries for you to pick. These berries have become a favorite for many! They are easy to pick, no thorns on the vines, and the berries are sweet and seedless! The blackberries are just $1.75 per lb for u-pick. If you are looking for a good dessert recipe using blackberries, check this one out: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/08/the_great_cobbl/
We also have beautiful flowers blooming on the farm this first week of September!
The Honey Select and Bodacious Sweet Corn is also ready to pick. We have the end of the season green beans and pickling cucumbers, as well as zucchini, cabbage, cauliflower and an assortment of peppers.
Saturday we will have the orchard open for Elberta peaches. We do not have a lot of trees in this variety so they will most likely get picked out sometime on Saturday. This will be the end of the 2010 peach season when they are all gone.
